When meeting with my site supervisor, we discussed a number of topics which are directly linked to high school drop out rates. We addressed both the advantages and disadvantages of each topic.

Our campus currently offers so much tutoring to ensure that students understand the material. We have morning and afternoon tutorials, Saturday for Success, and Tackling the TAKS sessions. Interpersonal relationships make these programs successful at our campus.

Collectively, my site supervisor and I decided that my initial action research plan was too broad. I have narrowed the topic to focus on reasons students identify as obstacles to transferring their family values to the school setting.

I am very passionate about this topic. My goal is to curb our campus drop out rate as I support campus goals with qualitative high school drop out data.
